1,700 homes are currently without power in parts of West Waterford as Waterford remains under a status orange weather warning.
937 homes are also without power in the Kilmacthomas area.
Heavy rain and strong gusts have battered parts of the county so far today with as much as 130mm of rain expected in some parts.
Significant river flooding is expected and people are advised to take extreme caution.

It's hoped that power will be restored by 4:30pm.
