Electric vehicle registrations are on the rise across the county.
New car sales have also recorded an increase nationwide, including in Waterford.
New car registrations for the month of April were up 14% when compared to April 2022 at nearly nine thousand.
Registrations this year to date are up 16.0% on the same period last year, standing at just over 67 thousand.
Nearly 1,700 new cars were registered in Waterford for the first quarter of this year, up 209 compared to last.
In April just over 1,800 new electric vehicles were registered compared to over 1,200 in April 2022.
In Waterford, 220 new electric vehicles were registered in the first quarter of this year, up 66 compared to last, with a national share of just below 2%.
Electric Vehicle and Plug-in Hybrids continue to increase their market share, with a combined market share now standing at 42%.
Meanwhile, Imported Used Cars recorded a 9.1% decrease in April 2023, when compared to the same time last year.
