Dungarvan Men’s Shed was honoured at the recent Rémy Martin Men of the Year Awards.

Michael Cass, a founding member of the Shed, was presented with A Man of the Year Award 2025 on behalf of Dungarvan Men’s Shed.

Each year, judges select national and local organisations for this honour in recognition of work taking place in communities across the country.

The awards took place at The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Little lsland, Cork, presented by Lisa Cannon and Deric Hartigan of Virgin Media.

Dungarvan Men’s Shed has won numerous accolades over the years and is one of the leading Sheds in the country.

It was established in 2011 to counteract poverty and social inclusion for skilled and unskilled men in Dungarvan and the surrounding areas by providing opportunities to participate within their own community and to advance their health and well-being in a safe and happy environment.

The Shed promotes social well-being and Lifelong Learning and enables change in the men to empower them to become involved in the community and overcome isolation.
One of the Shed’s major upcoming events is its annual variety concert at Woodhouse Estate in Stradbally on Thursday June 26th.
