Planning permission is being sought from Waterford City and County Council for the construction of 37 apartments in Dungarvan.
The O’Brien Family Partnership submitted an application on August 7th concerning an existing site on the junction of Davitts Quay and TF Meagher Street.
The site once contained Murphy’s Bar & Restaurant and Waves Nightclub.
Planning permission is being sought to demolish the existing building – paving the way for the construction of a new six-storey unit.
The development would be a mixed-use building, with the ground floor containing a commercial unit, three apartments, plant and service areas, bicycle and bin storage, and lobby spaces.
The first to fifth floors would include another commercial unit, 34 apartments, and areas for circulation, storage, services, and lobbies.
A communal roof garden with both paved and planted areas is planned for the fourth floor.
The application also seeks approval for signage, lighting, connections to public water and wastewater systems, and all related site works.
A decision is expected from Waterford City & County Council on or before October 1st of this year.
