Dungarvan actor Moe Dunford nominated for Best Lead Actor IFTA

The 2021 Irish Film & Television Academy Awards nominations have been released, across 25 categories in Film and Drama.
Waterford actor Moe Dunford has been nominated in the Best Lead Actor in a film category for his role in Knuckledust.
The Dungarvan native is up against Ciarán Hinds, Fionn O'Shea, Gabriel Byrne and Tristan Heanue.
Movies Dating Amber has 8 nominations, Herself has 6 nominations, while Wildfire, Vivarium, and Broken Law each have 5 nominations.
In Drama Normal People has received 15 nominations, while Smother has 11, and Dead Still has 6.

The ceremony which will be held virtually will be broadcast on Virgin Media One on Sunday July 4th.
Nominations have been shortlisted by Irish Academy Membersalongside a specialist Jury panel of industry expertsfrom around the world.
IFTA Chief Executive, Áine Moriarty stated that 
 This year’s Nominations are an incredible reflection of the high-calibre talent of Irish filmmakers, who are producing world-class standards of production and storytelling on screen.  The Irish Academy is proud to showcase and acknowledge their great achievements.
