
Gardai in Tramore have made one of the biggest drug seizures recorded in County Waterford in recent years.
Cannabis plants with a street value of 800 thousand euro were recovered yesterday evening.
The drugs were seized during a planned operation by the Tramore Drugs Unit at the Waterford Airport Business Park yesterday evening.
Roughly around one thousand plants were found. The drugs unit were assisted by local uniformed and crime gardai as well as regional and divisional resources.
Two people were arrested following the discovery of the plants worth approximately 800 thousand euro.
The two non nationals who do not speak English , maybe from Vietnam. Interpreters are assisting Gardai at the station in Tramore where they are being questioned under
section two of the drug trafficking act . They can be detained for up to seven days.
