Dungarvan driver who parked illegally in a disability space put off the road for 3 months

A Waterford man who parked his van in a disabled parking bay without the proper permit has been put off the road for three months.

Darragh Power with an address at Keating Street, Dungarvan was fined €500 at Dungarvan District Court and disqualified from driving for three months, for failing to pay a fixed charge penalty notice of €150.

It was issued by Traffic Warden, Pauline Brown, after she observed his blue Fiat van parked in a disabled parking bay without the relevant permit at Davitt’s Quay, Dungarvan on March 25th 2019.

Mr Power, who has no previous convictions, did not appear in court.

Imposing the fine and disqualification, Judge Terence Finn also directed that Mr Power pay Waterford City and County Council's prosecution costs of €80.
