A 1920s bungalow along Doneraile Drive in Tramore has sold off-market.
The house, which was the subject of a major renovation and refurbishment by tv's Dermot Bannon in 2019, was sold by joint vendors Barry Herterich and Griffin Auctioneers.
'Fidaun Cottage' was designed to maximise on the seaviews visible from Doneraile Walk and was publicised on RTE'S Room to Improve.
The build of this Tramore house took over a year, from presentation of initial design to completion, with design negotiations ongoing during the build.
Before the renovations, the house boasted three bedrooms, a family bathroom, kitchen, living room and conservatory all on one level. At the time, the layout was cramped and dark in the house.
Dermot Bannon noted at the time, that the kitchen was 'the size of a cupboard' with the conservatory not making the most of the views.
Following the extensive works, the house was embracing the spectacular view.
The entire rear of the house is designed to be flooded with light, designed as a stunning integrated space, with full height windows to frame the vista.
In place of the small kitchen is an elegant open plan space for the whole family.
"It was a charming cottage before, but it was just in need of attention and updating. This is far beyond what I envisioned would be the end result. It's a very happy conclusion," says then owner Tom.
Barry Herterich says this is 'a treasure of a home' and extends his best wishes to both the new owners and the previous owners as they move on to their next home.
