Planning permission has been granted for a dental and health building in Waterford City.
This is despite an initial refusal from Waterford City and County Council.
The building is situated at The Vee Centre on the Cork Road.
Permission has been granted for the construction of a two-storey building comprising of a dental practice on the ground floor and a health and welfare-related consultancy on the first floor.
In December 2022, the local authority ruled that the site layout does not provide adequate car parking arrangements and may result in cars queueing on a public road.
It was deemed a traffic hazard that would be contrary to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.
The decision was appealed to An Bord Pleanala who subsequently inspected the site, granting permission on seven conditions.
