A Waterford Minister says she was shocked to discover her car was targeted in a suspected criminal damage incident.
Gardaí are investigating after the car belonging to Minister of State Mary Butler had a tyre damaged while it was parked in the Barker Street area of Waterford city on Friday,
She told WLR News the outcome could have been much worse.
"I actually did drive that car afterwards, and didn't realise there had been damage caused until I was alerted by a friend of mine who had seen the picture on social media and who recognised my car."
"The Gardaí are investigating now but it could have caused a very serious accident. It is very distressing to think that you're not able to park your car safely and that it would be targeted in that way. I want to thank the Good Samaritan who posted on social media alerting the owner of a car, which happened to be mine, to damage that had been inflicted on it while parked in the Ballybricken area."
