There have been calls for action following further vandalism at Waterford’s People’s Park.
The latest incident involved the removal of benches from their positions surrounding the Bandstand.
Fine Gael Councillor Frank Quinlan is calling for action to address ongoing issues.
“Four or five benches now have to be repaired,” he said, adding that issues tend to flare up every so often.
“It mightn’t happen for a couple of months but then the playground is damaged or bins are set on fire,” he told WLR News.
He added that the problem of youths congregating to drink in the area continues.
Cllr Quinlan has called for public lighting and CCTV to act as a deterrent.
“The People’s Park is there for everyone to enjoy,” he added.
