Waterford City and County Council have given planning permission for a drive-thru coffee dock in Waterford City, subject to several conditions.

MBCC Foods (Ireland) Ltd lodged plans with Waterford County Council on October 4 for plans to redevelop the Costa Coffee Unit in the Waterford Retail Park on the Cork Road.

The plans involve the provision of a drive-thru lane for the Costa Coffee Unit, including a canopy and service hatch on the southwestern side of the unit, a height restrictor, an entrance barrier on the access lane, 3.5m wide drive-thru lane and associated hard and soft landscaping, resulting in the removal of 24 existing car parking spaces.

The plans also include associated signage consisting of three directional signs, one order station, three menu boards and advertisement signs, along with alterations to all elevations of the existing Costa Coffee unit, including the provision of new signage on all elevations.
