There has been condemnation of an act of vandalism to Lismore Garda Station this week.
A window of the station on Main Street was smashed on Thursday night.
Sinn Fein Councillor Donnchadh Mulcahy believes the incident shows a blatant disregard for law and order.
"This is one of a long list of incidents which keep happening around West Waterford," he said.
He believes the fact somebody had the "audacity" to vandalise a Garda Station highlights the seriousness of the issue.
"We're being forgotten about in West Waterford when it comes to policing," he says.
"We used to have active Garda stations right across West Waterford - now Dungarvan is the closest other active station."
Cllr Mulcahy told WLR that he hopes to have a meeting with senior Garda management along with his Sinn Fein party colleagues Deputies David Cullinane and Conor McGuinness.
"Conor McGuinness has written to the Minister for Justice and the Garda Commissioner seeking extra resources," he added.
