On Monday, a joint operation was conducted by The Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue’s Customs Service. As a result, a truck and trailer unit travelling from the continent was controlled and searched at Rosslare Europort. The search of the truck revealed an elaborate lead lined concealment within the fuel tank of the vehicle. Approximately 150 Kgs of cocaine was discovered within the concealment with an estimated street value of €10.5 million. A man in his 50’s was arrested and is currently detained under Organised Crime Legislation in the South East of the country. Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
