A man in his 30s who was arrested in connection with the killing of 32-year-old Ian Baitson has been charged and is expected to appear before Midleton District Court tomorrow, March 25, at 10:30am.
The initial arrest was made on Saturday morning after Gardaí launched a full murder investigation into Mr Baitson's killing.
Mr. Baitson died in Cork University Hospital four days after he was attacked with a samurai sword in Cobh on Friday, March 15.
It's believed the suspect had been on the run after Gardaí searched a number of areas in the Cobh area, including several homes. A oremises in Cappoquin, County Waterford was among those searched.
A Garda spokesperson said: "The man in his 30s arrested as part of this investigation has been charged and is expected to appear before Midleton District Court at 10:30am on Monday 25th March 2024."
