Irish singer CMAT is in the running to win the Mercury music prize.
The annual award celebrates the best albums by British and Irish artists - with CMAT's second studio album, 'Crazymad, for Me', among this year's 12 nominees.
She's up against the likes of Charli XCX, Corinne Bailey Rae, and The Last Dinner Party,
Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson (28) hails from Dublin but family connections trace her back to Dungarvan.
She won the 2022 Choice Music Award for Album of the Year for If My Wife Knew I'd Be Dead.
Addressing a sold-out concert at Fairview Park last summer, she told the crowd that she was "100% genetically from Dungarvan", before belting out a rendition of Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights - also acknowledging Bush's Dungarvan connections.
The overall winner will be announced in September - and if successful, CMAT will be the first Irish act to win the prize.
