Waterford City South councillor, Jason Murphy has been elected as the new Mayor of Waterford City and County.
The Fianna Fáil representative previously served as Metropolitan Mayor in 2022.
Sinn Féins Jim Griffin was also nominated, as well as Independent Cllr. David Daniels.
The resulting vote saw 21 votes go to Cllr. Jason Murphy, 7 votes to Jim Griffin and 4 votes to David Daniels.
Cllr. Adam Wyse was elected as Deputy Mayor of Waterford City and County, securing 21 votes.
Also nominated for Deputy Mayor was Sinn Féins Conor McGuinness who received 8 votes. Three councillors abstained.
