Hardy souls across Waterford will once again enter the water as part of the much loved Christmas swims which take place locally each year - helping to raise funds for various charities.

Here's all the info you need for the 2023 swims:

Tramore

The Christmas Day Swim on Tramore Strand takes place at 11am with collections in aid of the WLR St Vincent de Paul appeal.

The Billy Galgey Memorial Family & Friends Christmas Day Swim will be held at the Men's Slip at 11.15am with proceeds to Waterford Dragon Boat Club.

The Christmas Day Swim for Kinto in aid of Waterford Marine Search and Rescue gets underway on Tramore Strand at 10.30am.

The Eddie Dunphy Memorial Swim takes place on St. Stephen's Day at the Men's Slip at 12pm in aid of Tramore and Waterford Arch Club.

Newtown and Guillamene

The Christmas Day Swim at Newtown and Guillamene takes place at 11am and all donations go to Tramore Sea Rescue.

Kilmurrin

This year's Michael Power Christmas Day Memorial Swim is in aid of ACT for Meningitis and gets underway at Kilmurrin Cove at 12pm.

Clonea

The Dungarvan Lions Club Christmas Day swim at Clonea Strand takes place at 12pm.

The Christmas Swim for Caroline will be held on St Stephen’s Day for the Gavin Glynn Foundation at 11am.

Stradbally

This year's Christmas Day Swim at Stradbally Cove is in aid of Stradbally’s Cardiac First Responders and takes place at 12pm.

Ardmore

The Christmas Day Swim on Ardmore Beach in aid of Youghal RNLI takes place at 12.15pm.

Dunmore East

The Christmas Day Swim on The Strand,  Dunmore East gets underway at 12pm in aid of the Parkinson's Association of Ireland Waterford branch.  

Ballymacaw

The St Stephen's Day Swim at Ballymacaw Cove takes place at 12pm in aid of Carbally Community Development Project.
