Hundreds of people across Waterford will be braving the cold and taking the plunge tomorrow for the annual Christmas Day swims.
Ardmore
The organisers of the Ardmore Christmas Day Swim says it gets bigger and bigger every year.
The event, which raises money for the RNLI, is now in its 23rd year.
The swim on Ardmore Beach kicks off at 12:15 pm and people are being encouraged to support it.
Tallow
Tallow's annual Christmas day swim takes place at Claycastle beach, Youghal at 12.30 sharp. All proceeds to St Carthage’s Hospital Lismore and West Waterford Hospice.
Stradbally
Stradbally AFC is organising the annual swim in Stradbally Cove. It gets underway at 12 noon and is in aid of the Solas Centre.
Kilmurrin Cove
This year’s Michael Power Christmas Day Memorial Swim is in aid of Waterford City River Rescue.
The big event kicks off from Kilmurrin at 12 noon.
Guillamine, Tramore
The Newtown & Guillamine Swimming Club’s annual Christmas Day swim takes place at 11:00 am.
It’s in aid of St Martin's Special School in Waterford.
The funds raised will be to purchase new sensory and IT equipment for the children to assist with their sensory processing needs and further educational development.
Tramore
As part of the WLR Christmas Appeal, the annual Christmas Day Swim in Tramore will take place on Tramore Beach at 11:00 am. Join WLR and the throngs of swimmers who’ll brave the elements on Christmas morning to take a dip in the sea and raise vital funds for the Saint Vincent de Paul.
A bucket collection will take place on the day as part of the WLR Christmas Appeal, so we’re asking you to Be A Little Star and dig deep to give what you can to support the local Saint Vincent de Paul.
Dunmore East
This year's Dunmore East Christmas Day Swim is in aid of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
The charity provides two main services in Waterford - a daycare centre in the city called Pinegrove and a home support service.
The Christmas Day Swim takes place at 12 noon on the Strand in Dunmore East.
