The Magic of Christmas, a concert in Tramore raised over €5,000 for the WLR Christmas Appeal. All monies will go to Saint Vincent de Paul services locally.
200 people attended the event last night in the wonderful surroundings of The Holy Cross Church. There was reduced capacity due to Covid 19 restrictions.
Audiences were blown away by the performances of the homegrown talent on stage; Soprano Vanessa Whelan and Tenor Glenn Murphy, accompanied by Musical Director Dylan Browne on piano and Violinist Barry Kennedy. There was a guest appearance by Caoimhe Power.
The musicians treated the crowd to an array of songs, from Christmas favourites to religious pieces, instrumental and a cappella, finishing with the most beloved of them all - O Holy Night.
A lot of work went on in the background to make The Magic of Christmas the success that it was. Casia Flowers and Paul Kenny's Haven Pharmacy, both in Tramore, were event sponsors.
Fr O'Mahony and Fr. Shane O’Neill, along with sacristans Helen and Michael Crowley helped greatly in having the church ready for the night.
The Magic of Christmas will air on WLR Christmas Day at midday, and will be repeated at 11pm on Christmas night.
