Gardai in Dungarvan are asking businesses to be vigilant after a gang operating a change scam has targeted the West Waterford town.
Gardai say 5 local businesses have reported incidences where people have come in to their premises looking for change of a 50 or 100 euro note.
When the money is handed over they then change their minds but don't hand back the full amount of notes to the shop owner.
Gardai say this is a nationwide gang that has targeted Dungarvan in recent days and they are asking business owners to be wary.
