Catherine O'Brien appears at Waterford Circuit Court on 'dishonest inducement' charge

The case against Catherine O’Brien, a Cork woman with an address in Ballinroad, County Waterford - who has been accused of dishonest inducement, has been put back to next month.

The case was mentioned briefly at a sitting of the Circuit Court in Waterford Courthouse yesterday morning, which was attended in person by Ms O'Brien.

According to the Irish Examiner- Judge Eugene O’Kelly heard there are a number of “disclosures” that “have been requested” before the matter can be sent forward for trial.

Her solicitor, or one of his agents - will be required to attend another Waterford Circuit Court sitting on July 2nd. Ms O’Brien does not have to attend as she would have to come from Cork.

Ms O'Brien of 28 An Ghrianan, Ballinroad, Dungarvan, Co Waterford, is formerly of Buttevant, County Cork.

Last year, a nolle prosequi was entered in the case of two men accused of demanding money with menace from Ms O’Brien as her whereabouts could not be established.

An earlier hearing in that case was told that Ms O’Brien, originally from Buttevant in Cork, is a suspect in eight active cases involving €100,000 and lesser amounts.
