Excitement is building throughout the county ahead of tomorrow’s eagerly awaited All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Final between Waterford and Kilkenny.

The South-East neighbours will meet this weekend for the first time in the Championship since the dramatic All-Ireland Qualifier in 2017, where the Déise prevailed after extra-time in a thriller at Semple Stadium.

Waterford GAA is asking supporters to post any pictures of themselves in blue and white along with their artwork to Instagram and twitter using the hashtag #fanwall and #bestseat in the house – and the images will be shown on big screens in Croke Park this weekend.

School children throughout the county have been preparing to support the Deise in lots of ways.

The enthusiasm was clear to see in Cappoquin, as children from junior infants to sixth class prepared for the big match by waving flags, drawing pictures and even writing their very own poem. Take a look at the brilliant work in this video:

While, the pupils of Kilbrien National School have been impressed by Waterford so far, but say that facing Brian Cody’s charges will be a different challenge. Listen back to their chat with WLR Sport’s Gavin Whelan here:
