Campervans are now banned from parking at local beauty spot, Kilmurrin Cove.
The popular area along the Copper Coast is a tourism hotspot.
The presence of an on-site mobile sauna, and a mobile coffee dock have added to the tourism offering.
During summer months, it is common to see many campervans parked early in the mornings to avail of the views.
Signage
However, in recent days, several signs have been erected by Waterford City and County Council along the seafront.
Furthermore, these signs advise the campervans are prohibited at Kilmurrin Cove in the spaces in front of the seafront wall.
At a recent council meeting of the Comeragh District, local councillor Declan Clune raised the issue.
Adding, the Copper Coast is ‘a victim of its own success.’
Facilities
He appealed to council executives to reassess the budget and spending to improve the facilities being offered to tourists.
These include washing facilities, toilets, and additional facilities for rubbish dumping.
As a result, since that meeting, the signs have been placed, prohibited campervans from parking in that region along the seafront.
WLR has contacted Waterford City and County Council for clarification on the signage and how far the prohibition on parking reaches.
