Issues with school bus places cannot occur again this year.
That's according to Feargal Barton, Chair of the School Transport committee of the Coach Tourism and Transport Council.
There are 27 families in County Waterford in limbo because of delays with the appeals process on their inability to get bus places.
Speaking on 'Deise Today', Mr Barton called on the government to ensure plans are in place in advance of the new school year.
"We're now in January '23, people will be looking forward to August/September to put a mechanism in place so that we don't see the same issues as we did last year, and parents don't have the same frustrations as they had last year," he said.
Despite assurances from government that issues won't arise this year, Mr Barton is calling for more action.
