A part of the R680 Kilmeaden to Carrick-on-Suir road near the Pouldrew Bends at Darrigal is currently flooded.

A burst water main is at fault, rendering the road impassable.

Gardai are asking motorists to avoid the section of road between the Suir Valley Railway, Kilmeaden and Portlaw and motorists are being forced to divert.

The fire brigade is en route and the council has been notified.
