Planning permission is being sought to build office space and apartments at Broad Street Centre in Waterford City.

A planning application submitted recently by The Causeway Group outlines proposed alterations to the roof of the existing four-storey Broad Street Centre.

The plans would facilitate the construction of a new extension to the existing roof area - that will provide additional office accommodation.

Also included in the plans is provision for the construction of an additional floor of apartment accommodation, which will provide four apartments consisting of two, one-bed apartments, one studio apartment, and one, two-bed apartment.

Additionally, the removal of an existing glazed atrium roof area is also outlined, to form a new communal amenity space.

A decision is expected to be made by Waterford City & County Council by February 22.
