The body of a swimmer has been recovered from shallow water on Tramore Beach.
The middle aged man was discovered on the strand at around 1:35pm yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services attended the scene including the Coastguard, RNLI and Gardaí.
CPR was carried out but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí in Tramore say it appeared the man had drowned.
His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem examination will take place.
