
Gardaí Investigate After Man and Boy Found Dead in West Dublin
Gardaí are investigating after a man and a boy were found dead at separate homes in west Dublin.
Emergency services attended a property in the Cherry Orchard area of Ballyfermot at around 8.30 am on Thursday. Gardaí discovered a man in his 40s deceased inside the home.
Second Discovery Made During Inquiries
Following initial inquiries, gardaí identified another address linked to the investigation. Later, officers discovered the body of a boy at a house in Clondalkin.
The Clondalkin property, located on Lealand Row, sits approximately 15 minutes by car from the Ballyfermot address. Meanwhile, Christmas decorations were visible in the windows of both homes.
Forensic Work Continues at Both Scenes
Gardaí immediately secured both locations. As a result, the Technical Bureau of An Garda Síochána carried out detailed forensic examinations.
Furthermore, gardaí notified the coroner and requested assistance from the Office of the State Pathologist.
Bodies Removed to City Morgue
Authorities removed the man’s body to the city morgue before 2 pm. Later, at approximately 3 pm, officials removed the boy’s body from the Clondalkin home.
Gardaí Await Post-Mortem Results
A garda spokesperson confirmed that post-mortem examinations will now take place. Therefore, investigators will decide the next steps once those results become available.
Meanwhile, local residents in both Ballyfermot and Clondalkin expressed shock and deep sadness following the discoveries.
Gardaí confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
