Bausch + Lomb has been crowned Overall Waterford Business of the Year at the Waterford Business Awards.

Up to 340 people attended the Tower Hotel last night to celebrate the best in Waterford business.

The awards were organised by Waterford Chamber, Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber and WLR.

Bausch + Lomb was one of thirty-nine companies which were shortlisted across 13 categories.

This year marks 4 decades of contact lens manufacturing in Waterford for the multi-national, which also picked up the Exporter of the Year award.

Last night also saw John and Peter Queally of Dawn Meats named Ambassadors of the Year.

The brothers were honoured for their contribution to the food and agriculture sectors.

Also topping the categories on the night were GIY for Community & Social Enterprise, Cliff House Hotel for Food & Beverage and Quish's
SuperValu for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility.

Rob Leslie of Sedicii won Entrepreneur of the Year while Ashleigh Environmental took home the Environmental Excellence award.

New Business of the Year went to Everett's Restaurant; Fresh Food Courtyard was awarded for Retail Excellence, and Flahavan's won for Marketing Excellence.

Small Business of the Year went to Dunmore Adventure Centre; Technology & Innovation to Red Hat; Tourism Activity/Attraction of the Year went to House of Waterford Crystal and the Training & People Development Award was won by Hartley People.
