A centre for adults with disabilities in Waterford has been found to be non-compliant in an area of a HIQA report published this week.

Comeragh High Support Residential Services in Waterford City, run by the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland CLG was subject to an unannounced inspection in October.

The centre provides full-time residential support for up to five residents with intellectual disabilities, with four residents living in the centre at the time of the inspection.

Inspectors found that improvements were still required in relation to governance and management within the centre.

This is an area where the provider has failed to achieve compliance since 2018, the report states.

Stated action areas related to residents’ assessments of need, staffing arrangements and the governance and management in the centre, which all needed to be brought to a successful conclusion.

The centre was rated compliant in the area of protection and was deemed substantially compliant in the areas of staffing and individual assessment and personal plan.
