Waterford Council have granted planning approval for an affordable and social Housing scheme in Farrangarret, Ardmore.

This is located on Waterford Council land beside Ardmore Fire Station and the local school.

It will consist of a mix of 31 houses, 25 % of which will be social.  The balance will be privately owned houses.

The Ardmore Grange Housing Study Group, which was formed in January 2017, has been working quietly and meticulously to achieve housing for local people in Ardmore.

This scheme will be a mix of  2/3/4 bedroom private and social houses, for full time local residents.

The Ardmore Grange Housing Study Group have received enormous support from Ó Cualann Co-housing Alliance, who have taken over the lead role in the project; as the Approved Housing Body. They will be the developers of the site.

Tomar Trust, from Fermoy, gave the project the all important ' first leg up', by providing a generous grant, that funded the initial engineering and architectural studies.

Over the years, the group have received many expressions of interest to acquire one of these houses. They are forwarding these requests and expressions of interest to Waterford Council, for their attention.
