Gardaí are appealling for information after a woman in her seventies was struck by a car in Waterford City.

The incident happened on Friday last, December 12th, at approximately 4.45pm in the Carrickpherish area.

The woman sustained a fractured hip and a head injury and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford.

Witnesses to the accident have described the vehicle as a dark coloured Toyota Yaris 03 KE registration which did not remain at the scene of the collision.
