An Post is on the move in Poleberry while also celebrating a 100-year-old link with the local community.

Friday marked the opening of the new Post Office in Poleberry which is situated in the Tesco Shopping Centre with Postmaster John Cullen at the helm.

There is a proud tradition of post service to the people of the local community, with John’s Aunt  Maura Cullen running the local post office for 23 years.

Before that the office was in the hands of Liam and Florence Twomley in nearby Ballytruckle.

Florence did the honours in cutting a ribbon to officially open the new office on Friday.

An Post says the new purpose fitted three counter post office will provide the full range of post office and financial services to the people of this part of Waterford city.
