Successful Irish language film 'An Cailín Ciúin' has received two nominations for the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTAs).
The film, set in An Rinn and starring Waterford's Carrie Crowley, has been nominated for Best Film Not in the English Language and Best Adapted Screenplay for writer-director Colm Bairéad.
In 2022, 'An Cailín Ciúin' or 'The Quiet Girl' became the first Irish language film to gross more than a million euro at the box office.
It has already been selected as one of 15 titles on the shortlist for Best International Film at the Oscars.
'The Banshees of Inisherin' has received ten BAFTA nominations, including for writer-director Martin McDonagh, Kerry Condon (Best Supporting Actress), Colin Farrell (Best Actor), Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan (both Best Supporting Actor).
The awards take place on Sunday February 19th in London.
