An all-inclusive water activity centre for Ardmore has been given the green light.

Councillors approved plans at a recent specially convened meeting of the Dungarvan/Lismore District of Waterford Council.

The project will be developed alongside the village's iconic lifeguard building known as the 'Sandcastle' on the seafront and is set to rejuvenate the local area.

Plans for the centre were drawn up  in line with international research carried out by Failte Ireland.

Included in the project are specific aspects to enhance accessibility for people with disabilities which councillors hope will help make Ardmore an even more attractive tourism destination for all.
