Maggie Smith, best known for her roles in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey has died aged 89.
Her sons Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens made the announcement via their publicist.
"It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Maggie Smith,"
"She passed away peacefully in hospital early this morning, Friday 27th September."

They added their thanks to the staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their care and unstinting kindness during her final days.
