A man has died after a fall in the Comeragh Mountains in County Waterford yesterday afternoon.
The man in his forties was from Tipperary. It's understood he fell approximately 10 meters near the top of Mahon Falls.
A relative who was with him gave him CPR while the emergency services were en route.
Members of South East Mountain Rescue assisted before the arrival of the Search and Rescue helicopter based at Waterford airport.
Members of the National Ambulance Service were also on scene.
He was transferred by Rescue 117 to the airport and to University Hospital Waterford but had suffered traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead.
A post mortem will take place today.
Investigations are continuing. However, the death is being treated as a tragic accident.
