Religious Statue Stolen from Family Home in St Johns Park
A local family is appealing for information following the theft of a religious statue from outside a home in Johns Park.
The statue, which stands approximately 2–3 feet high, was stolen from a property on German Road near The Candy Store. It is believed to have gone missing sometime on Monday.
The statue had stood outside the home for more than 40 years and held deep sentimental value for the family. It had originally belonged to the homeowner’s grandparents, the late Peggy and Denis Mullane, both of whom are now deceased. The family member had recently restored the statue, making its disappearance particularly distressing.

Adding to the heartbreak, the theft comes just four weeks after the passing of the man’s grandmother.
The family says the statue is irreplaceable due to its emotional and historical significance and is asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area, or who may have information on its whereabouts, to come forward.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local Gardaí or share details that may help return the statue to its rightful home.
