Taoiseach called on to act after apologising to hospital consultants

Sinn Fein’s Mary Lou McDonald has welcomed the Taoiseach’s apology over the mortuary in Waterford.
Claims by 4 consultants that conditions were so poor that decomposing bodies were being left on trolleys and the floor were called into question by the Taoiseach.
However, Leo Varadkar issued a statement yesterday saying he ‘got this one wrong’ and he now believes there’s evidence to support their claims.
Deputy McDonald says the consultants’ deserved the apology – but the relatives still need answers. “He needs to make sure as Taoiseach that the system responds and we get the full facts. That’s what families deserve in Waterford and throughout the South East.”
