Tributes are being paid to the former president and Chairman of Ballygunner GAA club Pat O’Sullivan.
Pat who was in his 80th year died today (Monday).
Described as a 'colossus' Pat was involved with the GAA in Waterford for sixty years.
Many of Pat's sons and grandsons, including Philip and Pauric Mahony, have represented Waterford at Senior County Hurling level.
While his granddaughters, the Fitzgeralds of Gaultier, are celebrated Camogie players.
Chairman of the Waterford County Board Paddy Joe Ryan extended the County Board's sympathies to the O'Sullivan family.
He said Pat's contribution to GAA in the county was immense:
"He's a huge loss, he was part of the fabric of GAA in this county for 6o years. The work he's done particularly for Ballygunner and fostering the great club they have today - much of that work can be attributed to Pat.
"But above all he's the greatest loss to his wife Lillian because they were a very united couple and Lillian was a great Camogie player herself so their family were bound to be great GAA players."
The funeral of Pat o'Sullivan will take place on Wednesday at 1pm in St.Mary’s Church, Ballygunner
