The redevelopment of Walsh Park is set to go ahead after An Bord Pleanála gave the project the go ahead today.
Waterford City and Council last year granted planning permission for the project.
However, the planning body, An Bord Pleanála, received two submissions which raised concerns in relation to traffic management issues.
After considering both the upgrade for the Waterford City ground was given the green light.
There are a number of standard conditions attached to the ruling.

The 15,500-capacity stadium will cost up to 7 million euro.
The current stand on Slievekeale Road will be upgraded as will Keanes Road which will be a covered terrace and there will be an uncovered terrace on the northern bank.
The project includes four new dressing rooms and office space.
A number of elements will now have to be put in place before construction can begin.
