Waterford Councillor Mary Roche has announced that she is resigning her council seat.

In a statement this evening the Independent Councillor cited personal circumstances for the move.

She will be stepping down on the 30th of November after the annual budget meeting is completed next week.

Mary Roche was first elected to the then Waterford City Council in 1999, she also became the second female mayor in Waterford City’s history in 2010.
