Waterford’s Kirsten Mate Maher says her trip to Kolkata in India was “inspiring”.

The Rose of Tralee is an ambassador for Irish charity the Hope Foundation, which works to protect street and slum children.

She’s returning home after spending a week in the Indian city with charity director Maureen Forrest.

The Waterford Rose visited a number of the charity’s projects and spent time with children at the Hope Creche, where she sang to them.
