Employees at Waterford’s newest pharma company have raised €20,000 for local charities.
West Pharmaceutical Services, which is based on the Old Kilmeaden Road, was officially opened on Thursday.
Waterford Food Bank and Pieta House were both presented with cheques for 10,000 each at the event.
Don O’Callaghan is Vice President of European Operations: “Our philanthropy is a very deeply rooted part of our DNA within the West organisation. I must commend the team for [fundraising] as we were trying to construct, build this site and validate this site. We certainly worked hard, not just internally but, we worked also hard within our local community. That is very much the measure of who we are, and says a lot us as a company and as a people here.”
