A 32 year old man has died following a serious crash at on the link road to the M9 motorway in Kilkenny.
The collision involving a motorcycle and a car happened at around 8.45pm last night on the N10 at Templemartin, Kilkenny
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and later removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The occupants of the car were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, with non-life threatening injuries.
The M9 remains closed at Junction 8 Kilkenny this morning while Junction 8 Kilkenny city has been closed to all traffic north and southbound.
The link road is also closed at roundabout on Hebron Road on the Ring Road in Kilkenny City.
Gardaí say any traffic for Kilkenny should exit at Junction 7 Paulstown or Junction 9 Danesfort.
They are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding the collision, particularly any road users with camera footage who were travelling on the N10 at the time, to contact Kilkenny Garda Station 056-7775000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
A full examination of the crash site and vehicles involved will be carried out this morning by the Garda Forensic Collison Investigators.
