About 300 people attended mass and a choral ceremony with representatives of the Ukrainian population in Waterford taking part.

As part of the 365 days of resistance, a campaign to support Ukraine the gathering included prayers and commemoration of war victims.

Speaking to WLR News at the event, Ukrainian national Karina Tkachenko tells us that we have come together to mark this unfortunate occasion.

She added: "A lot of people are here today to mark the occasion and unfortunately this is not the hot topic in the news anymore. People are starting to forget the war is happening in Europe and today we wanted to gather today and show support and mark this unfortunate occasion."
