Investigations are ongoing after a car which was travelling at high speed crashed into a stream near Ballybeg last night.
The incident happened at around 9:30 pm when Gardai detected a car speeding at Tramore Cross, Butlerstown.
The car failed to stop for Gardai and travelled to the Cork Road speeding through a junction before leaving the road and coming to a halt in a stream.
Gardai say that three males were arrested in connection with the incident and that a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Waterford Fire Service recovered the car last night, closing down roads for the duration.
