A decision on a 97 unit housing development in Waterford is expected by next month.
Phase One of the proposed development located on the Lacken Road in Waterford consists of 97 residential homes.
In its entirety, the development will extend to three phases and 297 houses across 15 hectares of land in the Kilbarry/Ballybeg neighbourhood.
The planning application, lodged in the name of Rio Real Properties Limited, includes a new vehicular and pedestrian entrance, together with associated works.
Rio Real Properties Limited has been in operation since 2006, with an address at the Butlerstown Roundabout.
A dual directorship is behind the company, namely, Anthony Boland and James Boland Jr.
The proposed development consists of a combination of 2, 3,4 and 5 bedroom houses.
An agreement has been reached that if permitted, 20% of the 97 homes will be used as social and affordable houses.
An ecological survey undertaken of the site identifies otters and other species as being potentially impacted due to the proximity of the site to the River Suir and John's River.
When considering the application, a full environmental impact statement will be available to the planning authority.
A decision will be reached on or before August 24.
