The annual Easter Monday Clean-up the Comeraghs event takes place again this year, organised by the Comeragh Community Development Group.
Volunteers have already been out and about collecting rubbish this week at various locations across Mid County Waterford.
Declan Mulhearne from the Comeragh Community Development Group outlines some of the areas invovled in the clean-up.
"We are covering the parishes of Fews and Kilrossanty," Declan Mulhearne from the Comeragh Community Development Group has outlined to WLR, "right down to Flahavan's Mills, and it's going down to the village of Clonea.
"There is also a gang coming down from Kilbrien and they will be working their way down to Leamybrien.
"There will also be people up at the Pike and they're going back down towards Stradbally, up to Faha. That's the type of area we're covering."
There are a number of difficult patches for the volunteers involved in the clean-up every year, which is why people with a wide variety of abilities are needed.
"We do the roadsides and we also do the rivers and the forest", Declan continued.
"The forest entrance continues to be a major problem as it's extremely difficult to remove rubbish thrown over embankments into bushes and overgrown areas, filled with stagnant water.
"That is really the most difficult part of our clean-up. The forests are a problem and you need certain people with certain gear to do that kind of a job."
This is the 26th annual clean-up organised by the group and over 40 miles of road is covered every year.
